Andrew Brown, Partner, has assisted public and private sector clients navigate the variety of complex laws and regulations that impact the employer-employee relationship for 30 years.
Mr. Brown regularly advises clients on disciplinary matters, performance improvement plans, disability and accommodation requests, grievances, arbitrations, unfair practice proceedings, union organizing, and related issues. He has appeared before the National Labor Relations Board, the Public Employment Relations Commission, the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Office of Administrative Law. Throughout New Jersey, Mr. Brown has developed a reputation for negotiating prowess. He has negotiated hundreds of collective bargaining agreements on behalf of management for bargaining units of up to 2,000 members.
Mr. Brown’s skills are not limited to the labor relations arena. As general counsel for boards of education, he assists Board members and administrators in the day-to-day operations of their Districts and regularly attends their meetings. Mr. Brown dedicates himself to helping the board remain focused and ensures the public respects board members and administrators.
Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Brown is regularly sought out as a speaker. He has spoken at a variety of events as part of the New Jersey School Board Association’s (NJSBA) Annual Workshop and presents at county meetings of the NJSBA. In addition, the New Jersey Association of School Administrators frequently invites Andy to speak on such topics as evaluations, discipline, and negotiation issues.
