Legislation Could Mean Big Changes for New Jersey Insurance Companies

The New Jersey Senate recently approved a measure that could result in significant changes in the handling first-party insurance claims submitted by policyholders to their insurance companies in New Jersey.  Echoing laws already present in other states, the New Jersey Insurance Fair Conduct Act would establish a new civil action for the unreasonable delay or unreasonable denial of a claim for insurance benefits, as well as any violations of New Jersey's Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act.

Roshan D. Shah Successful in $35M+ Bid Protest for Defense Contract Firm

Scarinci Hollenbeck successfully represented AASKI Technology, Inc. ("AASKI") in a bid protest before the Government Accountability Office (GAO), preserving the company’s award to provide technical support services to the U.S. Army. BANC3, Inc., the current incumbent, protested the award, challenging the agency’s evaluation of proposals. On September 10, 2018, the GAO rejected BANC3’s protest and upheld the award to AASKI, clearing the way for the Tinton Falls contractor to begin work on a $35+ million Department of Defense contract.
