Lyndhurst, N.J – October 10, 2016 – Eminent employment law attorney and Scarinci Hollenbeck partner Gary S. Young will present an informative session at the upcoming 2016 Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) Conference & Trade Show. Mr. Young will discuss the new Department of Labor (DOL) Overtime Exemption, and common employment law mistakes to avoid.
Mr. Young explained that, “The overtime exemption is perhaps the biggest industry issue that will affect hotel owners and operators this year. December 1, 2016 is the deadline for the Final Overtime Ruling set by the Department of Labor, so it is important for business owners to understand how this important ruling will impact their businesses.”

With more than four decades of labor law experience dealing extensively with ERISA, employee benefits and executive compensation as well as having earned the American Jurisprudence award, Mr. Young has made a name for himself in New Jersey’s restaurant industry. He is general counsel to the New Jersey Restaurant and Hospitality Association (NJRHA), and frequently lectures on ERISA and employment law issues.
The AAHOA is the largest hotel owners association in the world. AAHOA members own almost half of all U.S. hotels.
The 2016 National Independent Hoteliers Conference & Trade Show will be held at the Claridge Hotel Park Place and The Boardwalk Atlantic City, New Jersey on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, beginning at 10:30 a.m. and concluding around 6:00 PM. The showcase event will include vendors offering everything hotel owners might need, from bedding and flooring to telecommunications and appliances.
