Lyndhurst, NJ, June 25, 2014- Scarinci Hollenbeck is pleased to announce that Partner Patrick J. McNamara has been appointed to serve as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Land Use Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Mr. McNamara will serve under the Board of Directors for a three-year term through June 2017.
The New Jersey State Bar Association’s Land Use Law Section Board of Directors has the responsibility of reviewing developments in land use law, including local and state development land use approval and denial processes. Additionally, the Land Use Law Section attempts to identify ways to reduce or eliminate the costs and delays associated with these processes. As a Member of the Board of Directors, Mr. McNamara will continue to participate in informative, discussion forums as well as through newsletters, seminars, and social networking events about the legislative process by evaluating the implementation of new laws or changing existing laws within the legal section.
As an Environmental, Land Use, and Redevelopment attorney, Mr. McNamara represents numerous development companies that specialize in the area of brownfield redevelopment projects for residential, commercial, industrial, warehouse and mixed use developments. He has also served as general counsel to the Planning Board of the City of Elizabeth for over 14 years. Mr. McNamara has extensive experience presenting applications before local planning and zoning boards, as well as appearing before local, county, regional and state agencies on behalf of clients to secure various permits and approvals, and providing guidance to companies in the flavor and fragrance industries as well as other related litigation. He has represented developers involved with major redevelopment projects in Long Branch, Harrison, Bayonne, Newark, Jersey City, Perth Amboy, Kearny, Elizabeth and Wood-Ridge. Mr. McNamara is also a former Chair of the Environmental Law Section of the State Bar Association.
