201-896-4100 info@sh-law.comLyndhurst, NJ – June 9, 2022 – Scarinci Hollenbeck congratulates Partner Daniel T. McKillop for his role in the formation and leadership of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s (NJSBA) Psychedelic Law Subcommittee.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to help lead this essential committee with other cannabis industry colleagues,” shared Mr. McKillop. “Psychedelics are quickly emerging as a powerful tool in healthcare, particularly in PTSD treatment and recovery. It is an honor to assist in the development of laws regarding substances that help improve the lives of others.”
The Psychedelic Law Subcommittee currently operates as an extension of the NJSBA’s Cannabis Law Special Committee, which Mr. McKillop has been affiliated with since his appointment in 2021. The goal of the new Subcommittee is to address various issues related to the developing legal field, including national and state legislation and regulation, FDA/DEA involvement, attorney ethics, healthcare and emerging medical therapy developments, GMP standards, licensing, intellectual property considerations, litigation matters, and much more.
About Daniel T. McKillop
Daniel T. McKillop joined Scarinci Hollenbeck as Counsel in 2016, primarily handling environmental law matters. The following year, Mr. McKillop founded one of New Jersey’s first cannabis law practice groups and began counseling private entities regarding Federal, State and local cannabis law issues. He also began to speak extensively on panels covering a variety of developments in cannabis law. In recognition of his contributions and influence on the development of cannabis law in New Jersey, Mr. McKillop was named a 2018 Trailblazer in Cannabis Law by the National Law Journal. In 2021, Mr. McKillop was appointed by the NJSBA to serve on the organization’s Cannabis Law Committee.
