Lyndhurst, NJ – October 10, 2018 – Scarinci Hollenbeck is proud to announce that Fernando M. According to the Boy Scouts of America, the Good Scout Award is given to “those who exemplify the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America and for their outstanding contributions to Scouting and/or service and leadership to the community.” The award recognizes leadership in business, industry, government, education, and social work in the local community, state and nation. Mr. Pinguelo is being recognized for his work as a nationally recognized industry leader in the emerging areas of data privacy and cyber security law, successes on complex business disputes and “crisis litigation,” and for his lifelong support and involvement in the Boy Scouts of America, among other volunteer efforts such as for Boston College’s annual Global Day of Service and the ReNew program, a nationally recognized prisoner reentry program created to assist former federal inmates transition back to society and reduce recidivism, and as a youth religious education instructor for the Parish of St. Mary.

“I’m incredibly humbled by this honor, particularly given the stature of the other honorees. The Boy Scouts has been a part of my life since junior high, and I consider my experience as a Scout to be the single most important factor in my leadership development.   But I am most proud of my oldest son – a Scout who’s recently earned the Second Class rank – for his interest and commitment to those same values and skills,” stated Mr. Pinguelo.

Mr. Pinguelo was one of the youngest Scouts to achieve the rank of Eagle with a Silver Palm – a distinction even rarer than the rank itself. While in college, Mr. Pinguelo continued his involvement in the Boy Scouts, serving as Assistant Scout Master. As of 2016, Mr. Pinguelo began serving as a Parent Volunteer as his son began his involvement in the organization.

Mr. Pinguelo and his fellow honorees will be presented with the Good Scout Award at the Boy Scouts of America’s 2018 Legal Services Awards Dinner in Newark, New Jersey on Thursday, November 1, 2018.
