On Tuesday, October 9, Partner and Chair of Scarinci Hollenbeck’s Environmental & Land Use group, John M. Scagnelli, will be speaking at a workshop entitled, “Accelerate Land Reuse for Community Revitalization”. The workshop, hosted by the Center for Creative Land Recycling (CCLR), will feature two panels, the first of which Mr. Scagnelli will be speaking on. During the Lighting Rounds: Ask the Experts panel, Mr. Scagenlli, alongside several public and private-sector redevelopment experts, will discuss pathways for successful redevelopment and answer questions on relevant topics. Some of these topics include legal liability for property acquisition, brownfield regulatory, planning and cleanup strategies, stakeholder engagement, working with developers and more.
According to the CCLR site, the “Accelerate Land Reuse for Community Revitalization” workshop will offer a “unique opportunity to hear from and meet individually with dozens of public and private-sector redevelopment experts.” The CCLR states that the workshop “will provide answers to your questions on legal liability, regulatory issues, funding resources, assessment/remediation, and community engagement to turbocharge your redevelopment efforts.”
For more information on the workshop and to register, please click here.
CCLR is the oldest and only national non-profit working exclusively to champion land cleanup and reuse. It is an independent, third-party force for the sustainable and equitable reuse of land. Their expertise is in cleaning up and redeveloping vacant or contaminated properties, sometimes referred to as “brownfields.” The CCLR offers training and technical assistance for communities working to turn this land around, and advocates for policy change at the federal, state and local levels to make land reuse possible in more places.
John M. Scagnelli’s environmental law practice covers the entire environmental law field, including environmental compliance, environmental litigation, environmental auditing, environmental permitting and environmental counseling. Mr. Scagnelli has had extensive legal experience servicing law firms, businesses and public entities. He serves as environmental counsel for banks and lending institutions, commercial and industrial companies, states and municipalities, real estate development organizations, and other organizations.
