William I. Kaplan

William I. Kaplan is a member of Scarinci Hollenbeck’s Commercial Real Estate department who has over three decades of experience handling transactional real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and real estate finance matters on behalf of his clients both domestic and foreign.

Mr. Kaplan routinely represents corporate and institutional clients as well as individual real estate entrepreneurs. While he has spent most of his legal career in New York City, Mr. Kaplan has participated in the acquisition and management of properties nationwide and has extensive experience in cross-border transactions. Notably, Mr. Kaplan has substantial legal and practical experience in transactions in China, as well as experience in analyzing transactions in Vietnam and elsewhere in Asia.

Prior to joining Scarinci Hollenbeck, Mr. Kaplan was Partner at an international boutique law firm in NYC, where he also served as chair of the Real Estate department. Mr. Kaplan graduated with honors at Harpur College at the State University of New York at Binghamton, NY, then earned his Juris Doctor from New York University Law School, where he was a contributing editor for The Journal of International Law and Politics.
