  • Jorge M. Marquez is a seasoned litigator with over a decade of experience representing clients in state and federal courts.

    Mr. Marquez has tailored his litigation practice for handling breach of contract disputes, partnership disputes, and many other business and labor & employment-related topics. Mr. Marquez regularly represents clients before government agencies like the SEC, as well as various attorneys general offices across the United States, and other regulatory bodies.

    Mr. Marquez was previously affiliated with the Warren Law Group, which merged with Scarinci Hollenbeck in January 2024. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Marquez served as the Managing Associate of Warren, supervising other associates, interns, and paralegals.  

    Mr. Marquez earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law in Rio Piedras, PR, his law degree from the University of Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain, and his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Champaign, IL. Notably, Mr. Marquez is bilingual, fluently speaking English and Spanish.

  • Commercial and Business Litigation Experience

    • Lead counsel in a wide range of breach of contract disputes that pertain to product importation issues, labor matters (employment agreements and terminations “for cause”), and issues about the enforcement of non-compete and non-solicitation clauses.
    • Lead counsel responsible for coordinating comprehensive responses to subpoenas and civil investigative demands issued by multiple state attorney general offices across the country dealing with federal and state consumer protection acts and legally related claims.
    • Lead counsel coordinating subpoena responses to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

    Trial Experience

    • Jury trial resulting in complete defense verdict in which allegations of First Amendment and municipal liability claims were raised against high-ranking officials from the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information of the N.Y.P.D.
    • Jury trial resulting in a complete defense verdict in which allegations of excessive force were raised against a D.O.C. captain and correction officers assigned to Bronx Central Booking.
    • Jury trial resulting in a complete defense verdict in which allegations of false arrest, excessive force, and failure to intervene were alleged against Staten Island Narcotics Division detectives.

    • Reverse conviction case that resulted in a multi-million-dollar settlement agreement to the satisfaction of both parties.
    • Case involving allegations of malicious prosecution with substantial monetary exposure that was ultimately dismissed on summary judgment grounds.
    • Case involving allegations of deliberate indifference that was ultimately dismissed on summary judgment grounds.

    • Case involving allegations of anti-trust conduct under the Sherman Act in which motion to dismiss was granted on behalf of the individual capacity defendants.
